He was born Oct. 11, 1926 in Yadkin County to the late French and Maggie Reynolds Shore.
Mr. Shore was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He worked as a farmer and carpenter all of his life. Mr. Shore was a friend to everyone and loved helping anyone in any way possible. At an older age, Mr. Shore accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was a faithful, devoted member of South Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Yadkinville.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Flora S. Phillips; and three brothers, Ray Shore, Ford Shore, and Raymond Shore.
He is survived by his brothers, Linney Shore, Hobert Shore, Herbert Shore, and wife, Polly, all of Yadkinville; sister-in-law, Lydia B. Shore of Mocksville; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends Monday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service was held Tuesday, July 20, 2010, in the Gentry Family Chapel by Dr. Phil Beavers and Rev. Chris Hauser. Burial followed in the South Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors by Yadkin VFW Post 10346. Mr. Shore requested that no floral arrangements be sent, but instead for memorials to be made to either South Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, or to South Oak Ridge Baptist Church Youth Fund, Lone Hickory Road, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
