He was born in Lewis County, N.Y. to the late James Monroe and Ella Mae Pluff Dunn.
A loving father, grandfather, and friend, Mr. Dunn leaves to cherish his memory a daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Charles Norman of East Bend; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Robert “Bob” Dunn of Lexington, Brad and Michelle Dunn of Elkin, Gary and Pamela Dunn of Walnut Cove, and Tony and Melba Sakowski of Elkin; three grandchildren, Danielle Dunn, Kaleb Dunn and Samantha Dunn; and siblings, nieces, nephews and friends.
A private graveside service will be held in the Dunn family cemetery at a later date.
