On Jan. 2 the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office arrested Samuel Charles Benton, 18, Robert Daniel Coppersmith III, 16, both of East Bend and Lakota Carl Samson Brumfield, 17, of Dobson on charges of felony larceny of a motor vehicle, felony break or enter a motor vehicle, felony larceny, first degree trespassing and injury to personal property.
The sheriff’s office reported that on Dec. 16, deputies received a report from a property owner located on White Rock Road in Boonville that they had located three utility trucks belonging to Yadtel that had been heavily damaged and were abandoned.
Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office deputies determined that the suspects entered the fenced area of Yadtel located on Courtney-Huntsville Road in Yadkinville and stole three utility trucks, according to a sheriff’s office release. The suspects then drove the utility trucks to White Rock Road in Boonville where they were driven recklessly causing significant damage and left abandoned, according to the release.
Benton is currently being held in the Yadkin County Detention Center under a $7,500 secured bond, while both Brumfield and Coppersmith were released on a $5,000 unsecured bond and placed on the pre-trial release program.
