Detectives with the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office, Winston-Salem Police Department, Yadkinville Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau Investigation found a methamphetamine laboratory in a community near Forbush Elementary School on Dec. 4.

Detectives began their investigation after they received information that Glenn Edward Camby, 43, was living with his brother at the residence located at Mill Creek Court in East Bend. Camby was wanted in Wright County, Mo. on felony drug warrants. The investigation led officers to Camby’s brother’s residence where he was living.

After making the initial contact with Camby, detectives discovered chemicals used in the manufacturing of methamphetamines. Detectives then secured the residence and applied for and received a search warrant.

During the execution of the search warrant, detectives discovered several “precursor” chemicals used in the manufacturing of methamphetamines, containers where some of the chemicals had been mixed and also methamphetamine byproducts.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation Clandestine Lab Response Team responded to the scene to aid in the clean up and investigation.

Camby was charged with maintaining a drug dwelling, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of precursor chemicals used in methamphetamine production, possession of methamphetamine and possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver methamphetamine. Camby is being held in the Yadkin County Detention Center under a $250,000 secure bond.
