Yadkinville Police Department detectives made an arrest on the evening of Nov. 29, solving the armed robbery of the CVS Pharmacy that occurred last week during the Thanksgiving holiday.

Jonathan Wayne Smith, 24, of Morgan Court Apartments in Clemmons, has been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and was placed under a $15,000 secured bond the morning of Nov. 30.

Detectives worked throughout the Thanksgiving holiday and into the following week following leads and crimestopper tips until Nov. 29 when a significant break in the case was made.

Detectives worked with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office and Winston-Salem Police Department to affect Smith’s arrest and execute a search warrant of Smith’s apartment to recover evidence and stolen property.

Detectives are continuing their investigation, and additional charges are forthcoming from this investigation and possible connection to additional crimes still actively under investigation.
