Mr. Joe F. Marler, Jr. age 84, of East Bend passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center.

He was born September 28th, 1928 in Forsyth county to the late Joe F. Marler Sr. and Lena Hennings Marler.

Mr. Marler retired from RJ Reynolds after 38 years of service and was a charter member of Forbush Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Marler was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Smitherman Marler and three brothers Bob Marler, Charles “Money” Marler, and Richard Marler.

Mr. Marler is survived by three sons Joe Marler III (Daphne) and David Marler of East Bend and James “Jim” Robert Marler of Forbush, three sisters Betty Adams (Junior) and Carolyn Williams (Max) of East Bend and Hazel Cave of Boonville, four grandchildren Jeronia Morsch, Billie Wydle, David Marler Jr., and Amy Treadway, and three great grandchildren Madison Morsch, Rachel Marler, and Will Marler.

Funeral services for Joe Marler were conducted on Wednesday November 28th, 2012 at 2pm at Huff Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Dale Wallace officiating. The family recieved friends from 12-2pm prior to the service at Huff Funeral Home. Burial followed in Baltimore United Methodist Church cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Baltimore United Methodist Church cemetery fund 2419 Baltimore Road East bend, NC 27018.
