Yadkin County deputies are investigating an incident in which an infant was fatally bitten by a dog.
The 3-month-old was bitten around 11:40 a.m. Friday by a dog that belonged to the family, said Sheriff William R. Oliver. The infant later died of those injuries.
Oliver released the following statement on Tuesday:
“At this time it appears this was an unpreventable tragedy. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family as they deal with their loss.”
Deputies released no other information, citing the ongoing investigation.
