Two charged in connection withYadkinville robbery

On Oct. 19 detectives with the Yadkin County Sherriff’s Office arrested two men on charges of felony larceny and injury to property on Shackton Road.

Mitchell Stephen Hale, 36 and Jeffrey Scott Benson, 44, both of Lexington, N.C. were both charged with three counts each of felony breaking and entering, one count each of felony larceny and injury to real property for entering two homes on Shackton Road, according to a sheriff’s office release.

The Yadkin county Sheriff’s Office received a call from a concerned citizen who had seen a suspicious vehicle in the area of Styers Mill Road and Shacktown Road in Yadkinville.

Deputies responded to the area where they located the beige Saturn that contained items that had been taken from a home that ha just been broken into, according to the release.

All items were returned to the owner, and both subjects were taken into custody, according to the release.

Hale and Benson are each being held in the Yadkin County Jail under a $15,000 secured bond.
