The spirit of Christmas will parade through Yadkinville this weekend during the annual Christmas Parade.
The parade, hosted this year by the Yadkinville Volunteer Fire Department, will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3.
Bryan Southard, chief of the department, said the parade will follow the same route as the 4th of July Parade.
“This year, we will be collecting can food to donate to the Yadkin County Christian Ministries at each intersection of the parade,” Southard said. “Fire department members will also be coming through approximately 10 minutes prior to the parade start time to pick up any food that has not been turned into designated places.”
Line up for the parade will be on Progress Lane and Shacktown Road, and line up will begin at 8 a.m. Visit http://www.yvfd.org for parade applications. Southard said all applications must be turned in by tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 1.
“Please make sure to read all rules for the parade,” Southard said. He also asked for those in attendance to bring can food to donate if possible.
“Please help us by donating so we can give back to those who need food during the holiday season,” he said.
Southard said the rain date for the parade will be Sunday, Dec. 4, with the parade beginning at 3 p.m. Line up will begin at 1 p.m. if the parade is changed to Dec. 4 due to rain.
