Yadkinville to celebrate Independence Day

The Town of Yadkinville will begin the annual celebration of Independence Day at 3 p.m. on Monday, July 4 with a parade in downtown Yadkinville.

The annual July 4 festival begins at 3:30 p.m. on the grounds of Yadkinville Elementary school, 305 North State Street.

Festival delights include crafts, displays, games, food, entertainment and a veterans program. The day ends with a fireworks display at dark.

Anyone wishing to participate in the parade should contact Brenda Brown at 336-679-2467. Ball teams, companies, church groups, organizations and others are encouraged to participate in the parade.

The celebration is sponsored by the Downtown Business Association and is anticipated to draw several thousand to the downtown area.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the day at the festival. Coolers are allowed, but No Alcohol. All pets must be on a leash to be in compliance with the town's leash law.
