•Friday, May 20: beginning at 6 p.m., the 3rd Arts on Main will take place downtown featuring a farmers’ market, food, entertainment, artists, wine tasting and more. The event is free with the exception of a small tasting fee for those wishing to participate in the wine tasting. The fee will benefit the Downtown Business Association.
•“Eye of the Artist” Juried Show: sponsored by the Yadkin Arts Council. The YAC announces the inaugural juried competition open to all artists 18 years of age or older residing in North Carolina. Artists may submit a maximum of two original 2D or 3D works of art, completed in the last two years. All submissions must be digital. The deadline for entry is June 1, 2011. $2000 in cash prizes will be awarded. For guidelines, go to www.yadkinarts.org. Click on “Call for Entries” on the menu bar. The juried exhibit will open with a reception on July 15 and close on September 10, 2011.
