Men's Hoops

Forbush vs. Ashe County

For most of the season, in the men's MVAC race, the teams have leapfrogged each other time and time again.

After holding off the Alleghany Trojans in their senior night appearance, the Forbush Falcons fell short to the Ashe County Huskies last Wednesday 73-66.

Zeb Richardson put on a show for Ashe, hitting 18 points, most of which came from the inside.

Cody Eller led the Falcons with 17, while Avery Ravit had 15.

Matt Cain also added 12 points for the Falcons.

Forbush rebounded on Friday night with a buzzer-beater win over Wilkes Central.

In the final seconds, Avery Ravit drilled a three-pointer for the 58-56 win on Friday night.

Forbush vs. Alleghany

For their senior night, the Forbush Falcons were able to fend off a pesky Alleghany squad for the 61-51 win.

Led by seniors Cody Eller, Michael Scott, and Matt Cain, the trio piled up 46 points.

Eller provided the bulk of the scoring action for the Falcons, knocking down 22 points, while Scott added 15.

Jeremy Mabe led the charge for the Trojans, hitting three three-pointers, on his way to a team-high 13 points.

Other scorers for the Falcons were Josh Beverly, who had five points, Avery Ravit, who had four, Mahlon Matthews, who had three, and Weston Parks who had two.

Women's Hoops

Forbush vs. Ashe County

Just 24 hours after dropping a heartbreaking loss in their final home game of the year to the Alleghany Trojans, the Lady Falcons hoped to rebound with a win over the Ashe County Huskies last Wednesday.

However, a stout Huskie squad had other plans.

The Huskies raced to a 59-30 win over Forbush on Wednesday.

Brandy Stanley was the only player to reach double digits, hitting 10 points.

Mallary Clay led all scorers with 12 points, while Courtney Bowers hit 11.

Forbush vs. Alleghany

The Forbush Lady Falcons hit the hardwood last Tuesday hoping to close out their final home game with a win over the Alleghany Trojans.

The Trojans had other plans.

Led by Kennedy Gambill, the Trojans were able to hold off the Falcons 56-41.

Gambill, who led all scorers with 24 points, lit the hoop up with four three-pointers.

Still, the Falcons were able to remain in the game, largely in part to Brandy Stanley, who led the Falcons with 12 points, and Meghan Luffman, who added 10.
