The North Carolina High School Athletic Association released a second draft of the realignment set to take effect in 2017, and Forbush High School looks like it is likely to be affected by the move.

Forbush, now in the Western Piedmont Athletic Conference, could welcome Atkins and Walkertown to its conference, while South Stokes may leave the conference.

Unofficially, South Stokes will join Mount Airy, East Surry, North Stokes, Winston-Salem Preparatory and Bishop McGuinness in the Northwest Conference.

Atkins, out of Winston-Salem, and Walkertown both entered the Northwest Conference on the last realignment.

The Mountain Valley Athletic Conference, including East Wilkes, Starmount and Elkin, does not look like it will be affected at all.

All details from the second draft of the realignment can be found at elkintribune.com.
