Girls BB: Elkin junior Kylie Thomas to participate in “Select 60” program

Kylie Thomas, a junior at Elkin High School, has been chosen as one of 60 players to participate in the “Select 60 Showcase” on March 26 in Charlotte.

While the Elkin Lady Elks have been red hot this season, one junior is taking a step to better herself for the next one.

Kylie Thomas, a junior at Elkin High School, has been chosen as one of 60 players to participate in the “Select 60 Showcase” on March 26 in Charlotte.

The invitation-only event will feature the top 60 best female basketball players in the state in grades 9-11. The “Select 60” will be a day of skill development and games, showcasing the individual player’stalent for scouts to evaluate.

Thomas, a post/wing for the Lady Elks, has been impressive this season as the Lady Elks have the best overall record in the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference. Her scoring ability has garnered statewide attention, as the team is the third-ranked team in 1A play in the state.

Fans can see Thomas in action Wednesday night as she and her team will take on one of its biggest rivals at Starmount High School.
