The 2016 football schedules for Forbush, Starmount, Elkin, and East Wilkes was released last week.

Forbush

Forbush kicks off its 2016 season with a home game versus Elkin on Aug. 19. Last season the Falcons went 5-7 overall and 2-3 in their conference. In the WPAC, Forbush placed fourth with a .400 win percentage. They scored 123 points and allowed 175. Jackson Cooper lead the Falcons with 450 passing yards, and Zane Johnson lead the Falcons with 971 rushin yards. Below is the full 2016 Forbush schedule. Home games are in bold.

Starmount

Starmount kicks off its 2016 season with a home game versus Mount Airy on Aug. 19. Last season Starmount went 7-5 overall and made it to the first round of the NCHSAA playoofs before falling to Swaim County. The team placed third in the MVAC with a 5-2 record and a .714 winning percentage. Starmount scored 237 points in the conference, and allowed only 110. Andrew Smythers lead the Rams with 439 passing yards, while Brandon Prescott lead the MVAC with 1236 rushing yards. Below is the full 2016 Starmount schedule. Home games are in bold.

Elkin

Elkin opens up its season with an away game at Forbush on Aug. 19. Last season, the Elks had a tough season as they went 1-10 overall, and 1-6 in the MVAC. The Elks scored 103 points overall, and had a 0.91 winning percentage.

East Wilkes

East Wilkes starts off its 2016 season with an away game against South Stokes on Aug. 19. Last season the Cardinals held a 13-1 overall record and they made it to the third round of the NCHSAA High School playoffs, before they lost to Mitchell, 17-14. In the conference, the Cardinals won the MVAC with a 7-0 undefeated conference record. In conference play, East Wilkes scored 237 points and allowed only 70.
