Antiques bring the past to life

JONESVILLE — One local couple has taken their passion for antiques from hobby to business.Jordan and Melissa Scott are longtime lovers of antiques, they have been dealers at the Antique Mall of the Foothills in Jonesville since it opened in 2003 and took over ownership of the business in January of this year.“It’s a bad disease,” Melissa Scott joked. “Once you start collecting, it just kind of snowballs.”Scott said her love of antiques began with a collection of beloved items that belonged to her grandmother. Crocks, tins and furniture were some of the first items she had from her family. Her husband also has been in the auction business for around 30 years.
