Students learn fire and severe weather safety

EAST BEND — Students at East Bend Elementary School got a unique lesson last week not only in fire safety, but also severe weather safety.Each year as part of their Fire Prevention program, members of the East Bend Volunteer Fire Department visit the school to teach children about fire safety. The department recently acquired a new safety trailer that the students take turns going through while it replicates different situations they may encounter.Fire Chief Ronnie Boles was excited to bring their new trailer to the students and expose them to safety procedures for severe weather situations.
