Nest & Hive shop hosts grand opening

YADKINVILLE — A haven for southern homemakers, the Nest & Hive Shoppe, will host its grand opening on Friday. The shop, located at 222 E. Main St. in Yadkinville, is owned by mother-daughter team Gloria Brown and Laura Pack.The two have always adored all things vintage and southern and have dreamed of having a shop since Pack was in high school. The shop is all about combining well-loved antique and vintage glassware, home decor and linens with new items such as unique fragrances and soaps.At 11:30 a.m. on Friday, representatives from the Yadkin County Chamber of Commerce will be on hand for the ribbon cutting. There will be refreshments, door prizes and special sales.

 

Forbush grad awarded scholarship

The North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority recently selected Ashlyn Vestal as a recipient of a $12,000 Golden LEAF Foundation Scholarship.
