EAST BEND - The Forbush boys and girls basketball teams will be hosting a coed basketball camp this summer.
Scheduled for June 18-20 at Forbush High School, the camp is offered for young athletes from third grade to high school freshmen.
Two sessions will divide the camp, with third- through-fifth-graders participating from 8-11 a.m., and sixth- through ninth-graders running from noon until 3 p.m.
The camp will be led by girls and boys head coaches Bradley Shore and Jeff Weisner, assistant Will Bell and members of the Falcons basketball squads.
The instructors will be teaching concepts of the game, including shooting, rebounding, ball-handling and defensive and offensive philosophy. The camp provides instruction in various concepts that are employed at the high school, collegiate and professional levels.
Campers should dress appropriately in shorts, T-shirts and basketball shoes. Concession will be sold, so attendees may want to bring some cash on hand.
Each camper will receive a camp T-shirt. Participants will also have opportunities to win other prizes.
Price is set for $60 for grades 3-5 and $70 for grades 6-9. Make checks payable to Forbush High School, c/o Jeff Weisner, 1525 Falcon Rd., East Bend, NC 27018.
