BOONVILLE - A dozen Ram athletes were honored at the annual Starmount awards banquet in May.
Appalachian State-bound baseball star Dillon Dobson brought home the boys Army Scholar Athlete award and was one of three recipients of the Dr. Spencer A. Bell Outstanding Athlete Award.
Western Carolina baseball prospect Dillon Bray and volleyball standout Olivia Gough were also awarded with Outstanding Athlete Award.
Catawba College volleyball signee and valedictorian Brinsley Stewart was named the girls Tim Longworth Ram of the Year and Scholastic Athlete of the Year, sponsored by the Boosters Club.
Soccer standout and cancer survivor Austin Macemore was awarded with the boys Ram of the Year, while baseball starter Brett Pinnix brought home the boys Scholastic Athlete of the Year.
Lady Rams volleyball player Kayla Casstevens was the girls recipient of the Army Scholar Athlete with Dobson.
Chowan University-bound pitching ace Courtney Groce and three-sport letter-winner Eugene Billips were named the Marine Corps Excellence Award.
Softball stalwart Samantha Couch was awarded with the Brent Martin Scholarship.
In the final award, injured three-sport star Christian Hurt and Surry Community College signee Courtney Barnes were awarded as the SASI Athletes of the Year.
