Deputies with the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of shots being fired at a residence on Styers Mill Road at about 4:30 p.m. on Monday
When they arrived, officers found that Valerie Boyer Allgood, 34, had been shot. A short time later deputies located a vehicle approximately two miles from the residence that had wrecked. The vehicle was occupied by Bryan Leonard Allgood, 34.
Allgood had what appeared to be a self-inflicted gun shot wound. Both parties were transported to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Valerie Allgood is listed in serious condition, and Bryan Allgood is listed in critical condition.
The Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the incident. Sheriff William Oliver says they believe the shooting is a result of a domestic dispute.
