The USA South Athletic Conference released its player of the week awards on Monday.
The Meredith College pitcher Jessica Dzeskewicz earned the USA South Softball Pitcher of the Week award for her 4-0 record over the last week.
The Yadkinville junior earned a 4-0 record in four appearances last week for the Avenging Angels. Dzeskewicz totaled 19.1 innings pitched and allowed one run on nine hits with three walks and 18 strikeouts.
In a game-one, 3-2, win over USA South foe N.C. Wesleyan, Dzeskewicz came on in relief to record one out and earn the victory.
In a game-two, 4-0, victory over N.C. Wesleyan, Dzeskewicz tossed a complete-game shutout and allowed seven hits with seven strikeouts. In a 4-1 win over USA South rival Mary Baldwin, Dzeskewicz again pitched a complete-game while allowing one run on two hits with seven strikeouts.
Finally, in a 14-0, five-inning, win over Sweet Briar, Dzeskewicz did not allow a hit in her five innings pitched with two walks and four strikeouts.
