The Yadkin County Sheriff's Office has confirmed the identity of a body found in a rural area of Yadkin County.
Sheriff William Oliver said that the body has been identified as Ginger Sue Gross, 41, of Hilltop Apartments at 608 Anson Road, Winston-Salem.
The body was found on May 6 in a wooded area off of Vance Road in the eastern part of the county. The sheriff's office released details regarding the identity of the body on May 8.
Sheriff Oliver said that Gross' body was sent to the state medical examiner's office in Chapel Hill earlier in the week and that the sheriff's office is continuing the investigation. Sheriff Oliver says that foul play is suspected and that Gross was not listed as a missing person.
