Mr. Fred Franklin King, 81, of Hinshaw Road passed away Friday, December 14, 2012 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.

He was born May 9, 1931 in Yadkin County to the late Miles and Nellie Porter King. Mr. King was a retired farmer and loved working outside around his house. He spent most of his life doing automotive body work for the different Ford, Chevrolet, and Chrysler dealerships located in Yadkinville through the years.

He was a faithful member of Fall Creek Baptist Church in Jonesville. Mr. King was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to his family.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by 4 grandchildren, Corben Scott King, Hayden Chase King, Daisee Grace King, and Andrew Kevin King; and by several brothers and sisters. Surviving are his devoted wife of 59 years, Dorothy Casstevens King, of the home; 4 sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Tammy King, Yadkinville; Mike and Kathy King, of King; Tim and Valerie King, Brian and Sandy King, both of Yadkinville; Grandchildren, Raina (David) Lawson, Randa (Andrew) Combs, Michelle King, Dene’e King, Mike King, Jr., Nathan (Angie) King, J.T. King, Katlyn King, Amy (Jared) Hawks, special grandchild, Greta King; step-grandchildren, Brandi young, Holly (Walter) Linquist; Great-Grandchildren, Morgan and Luke Lawson, Hayley Warner, Jayden and Miley King, Laila Hawks, Kennedy Hawks, Gracie and Amelia King, Kassi and Wyatt Linquist; sisters, Hazel Royal, Minnie (Charles) Hemric, Angie (Babe) Nook; sister-in-law, Ruth King; special sister-in-law, Jane Casstevens; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Sunday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday at Fall Creek Baptist Church by Rev. Don Hudson and Rev. Don Ball. He will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
