Citizens’ Sentiments

What should the first priority be for President Trump?

Annie O’Brien (Yadkinville) “Trump should stop trying to instigate a constitutional crisis, distance himself from hateful and divisive rhetoric, build trust with the American people through government transparency, and work to build communication channels with and protect the freedoms and liberties of America’s most vulnerable. I also believe he should work to ensure that he is not exploiting his position of power via divesting from his companies and entering his assets in a blind trust. I mean, c’mon, even Jimmy Carter gave up his peanut farm.”

Lindsay Craven (Yadkinville) “My hope is that President Trump will see the importance of the arts in both the education of our nation’s children as well as in our communities throughout the country. We’ve seen such a growth in community involvement from our Yadkin County kids as we’ve increased the youth arts opportunities we offer both at the center and in the schools and we want to see that continue to grow. Support on both a state and federal level are integral to our success.”
