After battling Elkin in a back-and-forth first half, the Falcons used a 7-0 run to close out the third quarter, building up a 33-24 lead.
Forbush sealed the victory with strong free throw shooting down the stretch.
Kala Doub lead all scorers with 14 points, while Brittany Moose and Jessica Funk added seven points apiece. Paris Trivette tacked on six points with Calyn Davis, Maddi Morsch and Sidney Matthews tallying four points each.
Forbush and Mount Airy went blow-for-blow in the first game of the tournament in Pilot Mountain Friday, fighting to a 27-27 tie at the break.
The Granite Bears opened the third quarter on a 10-4 burst to take the lead. The Falcons battled back, pulling ahead 42-41 with a pair of free throws early in the fourth quarter.
But Mount Airy turned the tables and knocked down 8-of-10 free throws in the final minutes to notch the 61-51 victory.
Forbush bounced back against a tough East Surry squad in the final game of the tournament Saturday, cruising to a comfortable 62-49 triumph.
The Falcons went to the charity stripe 31 times in the contest, converting 24 of those opportunities to coast to the win.
Davis paced Forbush with a career-high 15 points, while Funk added 10 points. Doub, Moose and Trivette tacked on nine, eight and six points, respectively, in a balanced scoring night.
The Falcons return to the court after the holiday with three games against former Mountain Valley Conference foes. Forbush takes on West Wilkes, Wilkes Central and East Wilkes this week.
