For the second consecutive year, the team of Gary Simmons, Stan Watson, David Thomas and Kip Thomas brought home the Pilot Mountain Civic Club Golf Tournament first place trophies Friday at the Pilot Knob Park Country Club.Second place went to the team of Brenda Harding, Riley Fillingame, Same Harding and Jerry Tilley. Claiming third place was the team of Tommy Brannock, Jared Moser, Rick Whittington and Ken Shelton. Proceeds from the tournament go toward civic club programs such as providing scholarships to Surry Community College and support for area schools, law enforcement, fire protection, scouting, foster children's programs and other area organizations which benefit the needs of local citizens.
