Jenny Marshall of Winston-Salem has announced that she will run for U.S. House representing the 5th district in the mid-term elections in 2018. Marshall will host a campaign kick-off event on Feb. 5 at the Muddy Creek Cafe, 5455 Bethania Road, Winston-Salem, from 2 to 4 p.m.

“This is the place to have your voice heard and be a part of the movement to elect a champion that represents all of us,” a press statement from Marshall’s campaign said.

There will be light refreshments and a cash bar available.

Marshall was raised in a rural community and now resides in Winston-Salem with her husband and seven children. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and master’s degree in language education from Indiana University.

“I have been a small business owner, executive with the Boy Scouts of America and a public school teacher. I am a staunch advocate for children and education. I have found that throughout all of my experiences I have a heart for public service and I would be honored to serve the 5th district as your representative,” Marshall said.
