The Yadkin Cultural Arts Center held its July “Third Friday” July 19 to a crowd of both children and adults.
Groups turned out to attend the third of four events this summer in the center’s plaza.
The event took place on — you guessed it — the third Friday of the month and ran from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. The night included a magic show, face painting, cornhole, arts and crafts, vendors, and summertime treats like ice cream and watermelon.
July 19 was Family Night and gave parents an artful evening activity in the heart of Yadkin County. The event was free.
Sean Mettler, a county musician, performed covers of various songs for the audience. The music was provided by Third Branch Cafe.
The Arts Center has held three events this summer, each one themed in a different way to give visitors a new experience each time they stop by.
May 17 was May Days, and in addition to staple events like cornhole, arts and crafts, the evening had a dance tournament and live music from Deluge.
June 21 was Summer Nights and featured TC Montana for the live musical performance. There was also a scavenger hunt for the kids.
August will be the fourth and final event of the 2013 summer. Keep up to date on the lineup and activities by logging on to the center’s Third Friday Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ThirdFridaysInYadkinville.
