After staging a comeback in the late game, the Lady Wildcats went on to beat the Cards 3-2 in a volleyball match at East Surry High School on Wednesday night.

The two teams played a tight first set, but the Cards came ahead by a nose to win 28-26. The Lady Cards followed up with a 25-19 win in the second set.

But, in the next two sets the Lady Wildcats began to regain their poise on the court. They battled for a 25-19 win and followed it up with a 25-23 win, which tied the match up 2-2.

In the final set, West Stokes grabbed a 15-12 win, which allowed the team to walk away with a win on the road at East Surry.

West Stokes’ win over East Surry was a good note to re-enter competitive play, after the team recently took two weeks off for some extra practice.
