Starting this week, readers of The Tribune and The Yadkin Ripple get a chance to participate in the publications’ annual Cutest Kids online contest, as submissions of area children opened up Sunday.
Already Thursday, seven kids were in the running for prizes that will be awarded following the voting portion of the contest, thanks to title sponsor Walmart of Elkin, and age category sponsors, Brooke Moxley Photography (newborn), Sonic of Elkin (toddler), Rhythm on Main (3-4 year olds), Cook Insurance (5-6 year olds), Harry’s Place (7-9 year olds) and Blue Ridge Medical Group of Elkin (10-12 year olds).
Area parents, grandparents and others can submit kids online by visiting elkintribune.com or yadkinripple.com, going to Local Features, Contests and selecting the Cutest Kids contest link. Or click on the Cutest Kids logo on the home page to reach the contest.
Kids’ photos can be submitted from now through June 28, with voting being held June 15-28. Each person will be allowed to vote once each day for the kid of their choice.
There is no charge to participate.
Winners will be announced shortly after the close of voting on June 28.
“This contest is always a big hit with the community,” said Elkin Tribune and Yadkin Ripple Content Manager Wendy Byerly Wood. “It brings families and friends together to support the kids, and it brings business to the sponsors of the contest. There are definitely some cute kids in the Elkin, Jonesville and Yadkin areas.”
Tribune and Ripple Business Development Manager Holly Lamm expressed her thanks to Walmart of Elkin and the category sponsors for their contributions to the contest that make it reality.
“We want to thank the sponsors, because without them this contest would not be possible,” Lamm said, urging community members to offer their appreciation to the sponsors when they see them as well.
