Boonville’s Second Annual Twilight Parade conducted by the Boonville Business and Downtown Development Association was held Saturday, December 7.

The Starmount H.S. marching band along with the Starmount High School State champion’s women’s volleyball team, and the Starmount High show choir demonstrated their talents.

Mrs. North Carolina, Christina Foster, accompanied Mayor Rusty Hunter in a classic car.

Sheriff Ricky Oliver and Commissioner Marion Welborn cruised in the parade.

Many others participated in the parade from floats with the cub scouts and church groups to tractors, classic cars, three volunteer fire departments and many others ending with the UNIFI sponsored float with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus.

The town would like to extend its thanks to Mechelle Crissman and Hope Johnson, co-chairs of the BBDDA Parade Committee, who coordinated the Christmas parade and events with volunteers Debbie Cooper, Tommy Jester, Pat Hutchens, Angie Walker, Mitzi Davis, Bonnie Lasky, Richard Lasky, Patty Bailey-Sheets, Tom Bastable and others with the support of the Boonville Police Department, Boonville Public Works, Boonville Elementary School and Parkdale Mills.
