Starmount student wins poster contest

Pricila Martinez won second place in the District Soil and Water Conservation Digital Poster Contest. She was awarded a medal and $35.

The theme of Martinez’s poster is “Save the Shed to Hydrate.” She featured Lake Hampton, Yadkin County’s new water reservoir. Martinez is a freshman at Starmount High School and a student in Eric Bray’s Earth Science Class.

She is also the winner of the 2016 Yadkin County Soil and Water Conservation Digital Poster Contest. She created her winning poster using Google Draw on a Chromebook.
