Starmount earth science students win digital poster contest two years in a row

BOONVILLE — The following Starmount High School students were winners in the 2016 Yadkin Soil and Water Conservation ninth-grade computer design poster contest.

First place went to Pricilia Martinez; second place to Jesse Houston; and honorable mention, Jenna Adams, Elizabeth Cartwright, Adam Houston, Charlie Smythers.

The students were awarded a total of $375 by the Yadkin Soil and Water Conservation District.

Eric Bray, SHS earth science teacher, collaborated with Suzie Thomasson, school library media coordinator, and Rhonda Cranfill-Moran, instructional technology facilitator, to help students design their winning digital posters using Google Draw on their chromebooks.
