Three charged in drug-related case

Three Yadkin County men have been charged in a drug-related case stemming back to mid-July.

On July 18, a Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office deputy was dispatched to a residence on Center Road regarding a breaking and entering that had occurred earlier in the day while the owner was away. The homeowner said the neighbor had called and had seen suspicious activity at the residence and was able to identify one of the offenders.

After an investigation by detectives, the following persons were arrested:

• Shawn Lee Richardson, 23, of Yadkinville, was arrested on Aug. 16 and charged with one felony count of conspire to break and enter into a building with felony larceny and one felony count of possession with intent to sell and deliver oxycodone. He was given a secured $7,500 bond with a court date on Sept. 9.

• Kevin Shane Cockerham, 31, of Yadkinville, a relative of the victim, was arrested on Aug. 23 and charged with one count of felony breaking and entering, one count of felony larceny after breaking and entering and one felony count of possession with intent to sell and deliver oxycodone. He was given an unsecured $5,000 bond with a court date of Aug. 26.

• Nicholas Roy Hawks, 20, of Hamptonville, was arrested on Aug. 24 and charged with one felony count of conspire to break and enter a building with felony larceny and one count of felony possession with intent to sell and deliver oxycodone. He was given a unsecured $7,500 bond with a court date of Aug. 26.
