Two Yadkin County residents have been arrested on assault charges in two unrelated incidents.
On July 26, Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a residence on Smithtown Road in East Bend regarding a domestic disturbance. Following an investigation, detectives allege that Stephanie Dawn Wilkins, 40, of Yadkinville, entered the home, engaged in a verbal argument which lead to a physical altercation, resulting in the victim being injured by a glass bottle.
Wilkins was arrested and charged with one felony count of first-degree burglary and one count of felony assault with a deadly weapon with serious injury.
Wilkins was given a secured $50,000 bond with a court date of July 27.
Sonny Cullers, 62, of Harrison Avenue, Yadkinville, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury following an incident July 19.
Yadkinville Police officers responded to a call of a stabbing on that evening. The victim stated that she and Cullers had been in an argument and he allegedly stabbed her in the face and shoulders with a small pair of scissors. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Cullers was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to Yadkin County Jail where he was placed under a secured bond of $5,000 His date for court appearance is Aug. 17.
