JONESVILLE — On July 9, the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office, the Yadkinville Police Department and Jonesville Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence on N.C. 67 in Jonesville. Eric Austin Parnell, 26, of Boonville, was arrested following the search.
While officers were conducting a search of the premises, Parnell arrived and pulled through the back of the parking area to the front of the building, according to officers’ reports. Officers told Parnell to stop and exit the vehicle. Parnell failed to follow instructions and drove a short distance down N.C. 67, over an embankment and through a yard. The officers followed Parnell, who jumped and ran from the vehicle. Parnell was apprehended after a short foot chase.
He was subsequently charged with one count each of felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver methamphetamine, maintain a vehicle for controlled substances, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, resist, delay, and obstruct officers, driving while license revoked, fail to register vehicle with NC DMV and no insurance on vehicle.
Parnell also had an outstanding order for arrest for failure to appear in Forsyth County for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia with a $1,000 preset bond. Parnell is being held under an additional $75,000 secure bond and has a court date of July 20. Other charges are pending for items located at the residence, according to law enforcement.
