Hamptonville woman faces multiple drug charges

HAMPTONVILLE — As part of a drug investigation, the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search of a home on Feb. 23 on Statesville Road in Hamptonville.

Officers seized more than 100 dosage units of oxycodone, hydrocodone, alprazolam, and numerous other opioid painkillers along with a firearm.

The suspect, Sherry Marie Jones, 49, of Hamptonville, has been charged with two counts of trafficking in opium/heroin; three counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance; felony maintain a dwelling (residence); possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule III controlled substance; possession with intent to manufacture sell and deliver a Schedule IV controlled substance; sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance; misdemeanor failure to store a firearm in a safe manner; misdemeanor child abuse; and misdemeanor possession drug paraphernalia.

Jones had a court appearance scheduled for Tuesday in Yadkin County District Court. She is being held in the Yadkin County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond.
