Multiple suspects charged in home invasion robbery

HAMPTONVILLE — Four men have been charged following a reported home invasion burglary which was reported shortly after midnight Sunday morning.

On Sunday at 12:30 a.m., deputies with the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the reported home invasion burglary on Statesville Road in Hamptonville.

The first deputies on the scene quickly got a description of the suspects and other officers began canvassing the neighborhood. Deputies spotted a pick-up truck attempting to flee from the area and were able to catch up to it, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

A vehicle stop was performed and after an investigation, the occupants inside where arrested and charged with the burglary.

Arrested were:

• John Isaac Johnson, 19, of Jonesville, was charged with aid and abet first-degree burglary, felony conspiracy to commit burglary and possession of burglary tools.

• Kenneth Wayne Kelly Jr., 19, of Boonville, was charged with first-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools and felony conspiracy.

• Bilahi Hassan Moss, 18, of Jonesville, was charged with charged with aid and abet first-degree burglary, felony conspiracy to commit burglary and possession of burglary tools.

• Dustin Anthony Sparks, 20, of Jonesville, was charged with charged with aid and abet first-degree burglary, felony conspiracy to commit burglary, possession of burglary tools and felony possession of a controlled substance within a detention center.

All the suspects received a bond of $100,000 secured and had a first court appearance scheduled in Yadkin County District Court on Wednesday.
