HAMPTONVILLE — On Dec. 29, the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office arrested two individuals following a drug investigation which occurred on Reavis Road near U.S. 421.

Kevin Lewis Leonard, 50, and Amber Kristy McHone, 26, both of Hamptonville, were arrested for the sale and distribution of prescription medication, Opana. Leonard was charged with three felony counts of trafficking a schedule II controlled substance, one felony count of conspiracy to traffic a schedule II controlled substance, two felony counts of selling and delivering a schedule II controlled substance, two felony counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, and one felony count of maintaining a vehicle for the sale of controlled substance.

McHone was charged with one felony count of conspiracy to traffic a schedule II controlled substance, one felony count of conspiracy to sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, one felony count of possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, and two felony counts of obtaining property by false pretense.

Leonard received a secure bond of $100,000, and McHone received a secure bond of $50,000. Leonard and McHone were scheduled to appear in court for the above charges on Dec. 30.
