Two charged with trespassing

EAST BEND — Two High Point residents were arrested in East Bend last week. On Dec. 19, a Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office deputy was dispatched to an area on Baker Roa in East Bend regarding subjects on private property.

The property owner said the property was gated and private signs were posted. The deputy located a truck with two subjects in same stuck in a field. Following an investigation, the deputy found a firearm in the truck and also found the two subjects were both convicted felons.

Johnny Ray Oldham, 49, and Christina Overby Byrd, 42, both of High Point, were arrested at that time. Both were charged with one count felony possession of a firearm by felon and one count misdemeanor first-degree trespassing. Both were given a $7,500 secured bond with a court date of Dec. 30.
