Driver charged after high speed chase

On Nov. 8 on U.S. 421 South around Reavis Road, a vehicle was observed driving at speeds exceeding 100 mph and weaving in and out of traffic by other travelers who alerted the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office deputies. The driver of the vehicle sped up after the deputy activated his blue lights and siren. With the help of Yadkinville Police Department, the driver pulled over just prior to Unifi Industrial Road.

Ronnie Devern Mock, 44, of North Wilkesboro, was arrested and charged with one felony count of flee/elude arrest with a motor vehicle, one misdemeanor of reckless driving to endanger, one misdemeanor driving while license revoked, not impaired, and one misdemeanor speeding. He was given a $2,500 secured bond with a court date of Nov. 10.
