Officers with the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office arrested several suspects this week in an investigation involving the sell and distribution of methamphetamine. The eight-month long investigation involved several houses and suspects from Yadkin, Surry, Wilkes and Alexander counties. The investigation involved undercover operations and the search of three residences in the Jonesville area of Yadkin County. The investigation netted the seizure of a vehicle, more than 60 grams of methamphetamine and money from drug proceeds.

The following individuals were arrested and charged:

• Robert Leroy Leming Jr., 45, of Pinnix Street in Jonesville, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, two counts conspiracy to sell and deliver methamphetamine, two counts trafficking in methamphetamine by possession and manufacture, and felony maintain a dwelling. Leming was placed in the Yadkin County Detention Center under a $1 million bond. His court date is Nov 3.

• Samuel McDaniel, 26, also of Pinnix Street, Jonesville, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, two counts trafficking in methamphetamine by possession and transport, three counts of conspiracy to traffic in methamphetamine. McDaniel was placed in the Yadkin County Detention Center under a $250,000 secure bond. His court date is Nov. 3. McDaniel is facing additional charges in Wilkes County for sell and deliver of methamphetamine.

• Mark Douglas Ellis, 44, of Buck Run Road in Jonesville, was charged with three counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, three counts of sell and deliver methamphetamine, three counts of felony maintain a dwelling, and conspiracy to sell and deliver methamphetamine. Ellis was placed in the Yadkin County Detention Center under a $150,000 secure bond. His court date is Nov. 4.

• James Edward Holland Jr., 25, of Industrial Park Road, Wilkesboro, was charged with two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, two counts conspiracy to sell and deliver methamphetamine, four counts trafficking in methamphetamine and felony maintain a dwelling. Holland was placed in the Yadkin County Detention Center under a $1 million bond. His court date is Nov. 3.

The investigation included officers from the Yadkin, Wilkes, Surry, and Alexander County sheriff’s offices, along with Yadkinville Police Department, Jonesville Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.

Additional charges are pending and more arrests are expected in the case.
