HAMPTONVILLE — A Hamptonville man was arrested and charged with child sex abuse on Oct. 28. According to a report from the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office, a family member of two area children contacted law enforcement earlier this month with concerns that the children were allegedly being sexually abused by a family friend.
Detectives said during an investigation evidence was discovered that sustained the allegations of sexual child abuse. Kim Edward Walker, 57, was arrested and charged with two felony counts of first-degree sexual offense of a child, two felony counts of indecent liberties with a child, and one felony count of crime against nature.
Walker is being held in the Yadkin County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond. Walker is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 4.
