On Sept. 18, deputies with the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office arrested two suspects for selling and distributing prescription pain medications on a vehicle stop on West Lee Avenue in Yadkinville.
Arrested was Christy Andrews Chapman, 39, of Jonesville. Chapman was charged with four counts of sell and deliver of a schedule II controlled substance, six counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, three counts of felony conspiracy, one count of possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule IV controlled substance, one count trafficking in opiates, and felony maintain a dwelling. Chapman is being held in the Yadkin County Detention Center under a $25,000 secure bond and has her next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 30.
Also charged is Ashley Marie Hunt, 24, of Jonesville. Hunt was charged with sell and deliver of a schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to sell a deliver a schedule II controlled substance, and felony conspiracy. Hunt is being held in the Yadkin County Detention Center under a $10,000 secure bond. Her next court appearance has not been set.
The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests and charges are expected. The investigation involved officers with the sheriff’s office, the Yadkinville Police Department, NC Highway Patrol and NC State Bureau of Investigation.
