Hugh Chatham partners with Studer Group to ‘hardwire’ a culture of excellence

Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital has announced a three-year partnership with Studer Group, an outcomes-based healthcare performance improvement firm based in Pensacola, Florida.

Studer Group, a Huron Healthcare solution, has worked with healthcare organizations in the United States, Canada and other nations, teaching them how to achieve and sustain exceptional clinical, operational, and financial outcomes.

Hugh Chatham, a non-profit community health care system, and Studer Group share a commitment to providing the best overall experience for patients and the best work environment for employees. Studer Group will help Hugh Chatham accelerate its progress to become a ‘high reliability’ organization, known for high quality, safe medical care and excellent customer service. It’s this commitment to helping organizations that led to Studer Group receiving the 2010 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, established by the U.S. Congress to recognize companies that have implemented exceptional quality management systems.

Studer Group CEO and president, BG Porter, said that he looks forward to this working relationship. “Studer Group works with organizations to help them get better in areas that they are already focused on, such as quality, service, finance, growth, and people,” said Porter. “Through our work together, I believe we can make healthcare a better place for employees to work, for physicians to practice medicine, and for patients to receive care.”

He explained that the work with Hugh Chatham already has begun with activities such as focus group discussions with employees and physicians, leader surveys, and an on-site visit to help form a current picture of the organization.
