HAMPTONVILLE — On Aug. 5, Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a call from a concerned citizen that Berlie Franklin Wagoner, 72, of Hamptonville, was allegedly driving without a license.
The responding deputy located Wagoner in Hamptonville and attempted to stop the vehicle. Wagoner allegedly sped up to elude the traffic stop. The deputy lost sight of the suspect since he was in a residential area, but located the vehicle and Wagoner parked in the woods near his home shortly afterwards.
Wagoner was arrested and charged with one count of felony flee/elude arrest with a motor vehicle, one count of reckless driving to endanger and one count of driving while license revoked. Wagoner was given a secured $15,000 bond with a court date on Aug. 6.
