A local business that has been around for 16 years will be expanding this fall. Countryside RV Center, located at 2100 Hinshaw Road in Yadkinville, broke ground last week on a new RV service center. The company, owned by Mark and Angela Casstevens, has been selling new and pre-owned campers for many years and they said they are seeing a growing need for a larger service center.

“We’ve just basically been servicing what we sell and we’ve just grown in leaps and bounds here in the past year and we just have a need and the county has a need,” Mark Casstevens said.

RVs and campers do need yearly maintenance, winterizing and other service, Casstevens said, and he frequently gets calls from all around the area. With just a small space and only part-time service technicians, many of the calls they have received regarding RV maintenance and service had to be turned away.

It has been a long-term goal for Casstevens to build a large service center and last week they began work on a new garage so they can serve additional customers in need of maintenance on their RVs or campers. The new service center also will have a showroom for parts and an 18-foot open air porch with full hookups.

Customers who purchase a new RV may choose to stay overnight at the service center at no charge to get a feel for their new RV.

Casstevens said the service center is expected to be open by October and they plan to have a big grand opening either this fall or in the spring.

Countryside RV specializes in pre-owned travel trailers, new park models, hybrids, pop-up campers, retro campers, lite weight campers, compact travel trailers as well as popular brands such as Cavco, Forest River Quailridge, Kropf, AR-One, Travel Star and Autumn Ridge by Starcraft.

Though just a small company in Yadkin County, Casstevens said he has customers from all across the state from Asheville to Wilmington as well as customers from as far away as California, North Dakota and Florida.

The nostalgia of camping is something many people resonate with, Casstevens said. He remembered camping with his family in a Winnebago and always wanted one when he grew up.

“It’s just quality family time and family fun,” he said of camping.

Countryside RV is open year-round and Casstevens said even snow on the ground doesn’t keep customers away.

“We sell fun year-round, that’s our motto,” he said.
