BOONVILLE — The first Hot Rods & Food Trucks event of the season will kick off Monday in downtown Boonville. The family-friendly cruise-ins are held every third Monday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in downtown Boonville by the Boonville Business and Downtown Development Association (BBDDA). All types of cars, trucks, and bikes are welcome to line the streets of the downtown area.
“If you do not have a vehicle to show off, no problem. It’s fun to come out and look, visit with the owners, and learn the history of the vehicles,” said Town Administrator Sarah Harris.
There will be plenty of good food to enjoy as well.
“Enjoy mouthwatering BBQ from Good Times Bar-B-Cue Food Truck from Pilot Mountain,” Harris said. “The Boonville Business and Downtown Development Association will be firing up the grill for hot dogs. The Green Mesa Blueberry farm will be selling blueberry smoothies for $4.”
The BBDDA will be raffling prizes to raise money for parks and recreation projects in Boonville. Mid-Town Gas n Grill and the Boonville Restaurant will offer food specials during the event. BB’s Boutique and Boonville Flower and Decor’ will be open late for shoppers.
“Come on out and enjoy music, food and fun for the entire family,” said Harris.
“The goal of these downtown events are to bring the community together in the downtown area for a night out on the town,” she added. “These events support local businesses and support our local economy in Boonville. Last year we added this event and have heard a lot of positive feedback from the community. Our family-oriented event is a hit in the community and we look forward to seeing it continue to grow.
“Check out the next BBDDA sponsored event, the Boonville Bash, Saturday, May 13, which will feature a Bash Dash consisting of a kids mile fun run and a 5k in the morning. The festival will begin at noon where you will find food and craft vendors, a silent auction, kid zone, and live entertainment featuring Blue Sky, Taylor Vaden & Memphis Thunder, and Phatt City!
