EAST BEND — An unnamed street behind the former East Bend Library building is now closed. The paved area has been used as a cut through from Fairground Road to Main Street and Quaker Avenue for many years, but the property is actually part of the lot on which the building stands.

The new owners of the property, Don and Wanda Taylor, requested the street to be closed for traffic as it is not actually town property. The building now houses a beauty salon and will soon have another business on the premises.

Temporary barricades are now blocking the area off. The property owners plan to use the space for additional parking for staff and customers.
